Mission of the Westworth Church of Christ Loving God- Worshipping Key verse: “And Jesus answered him, “It is written, “‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and him only shall you serve.’” Luke 4:8, ESV A key starting point for believers is worshipping God together. It is a time in which love and good works are encouraged (Hebrews 10:24). It is a time in which we lift praise to God who deserves it. It is a time when visitors have their first experiences with the congregation, and possibly with God Himself. Loving Neighbors- Fellowshipping Key verse: “We ought always to give thanks to God for you, brothers, as is right, because your faith is growing abundantly, and the love of every one of you for one another is increasing”. 2 Thessalonians 1:3, ESV A deeper feeling of connection for believers is spending time in fellowship with one another. As our faith in God grows, we will want to become closer and closer to people in the body of Christ. Fellowship is the time we spend growing healthy spiritual friendships with other believers that sustain us in difficult times. Loving Ourselves- Serving Key verse: “For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” Mark 10:45, ESV The deepest spiritual blessing for believers is to move from being served to actively serving others as Jesus did. While there are times in which we need help from others, the time we spend serving others is one of the greatest blessings we can have.
