What is Worship?

When We Meet Together…

The Westworth Church of Christ meets Sundays at 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

Here is some information on what our

church services are like:

SEATING: While members have places they like to sit when they come, there are no "reserved seats"; please sit in any open pew.

GUEST CARDS: Please fill this out and place it in the collection plate. This will help us know what kind of contact you would like to have from us in the future. Thank you.

CHILDREN: Our morning service has a Family Bible Story, designed to show adults how they can teach their children. Children age 2-10 may come to the front. Each child will receive a Children’s Worship Bulletin after the story.

Children are always welcome in worship. There is a "cry room" with lavatory at the back of the auditorium if needed. Activity Sheets are in the North Foyer for kids 7-12.

MUSIC: As Jesus did when worshipping in the synagogue, we use only vocal music. Please feel free to praise God through singing.

PRAYER: As each of the several prayers is led, we ask each to pray silently.

COMMUNION: We have "open communion" each Sunday: all Christians can partake. We do this to proclaim the death of Jesus on the cross to save the world. Our silence during communion is to allow reflection on Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection.

GIVING: Members are to give freely to God; guests may give if they so choose. Please put your guest card in the plate and pass the tray down. Thank you.

BIBLE TEACHING: We teach Jesus and Him crucified. Our goal is to help people find a closer relationship with God, as revealed in His written Word, the Bible. Those who teach here welcome any questions or comments you may have.

INVITATION: At the end of the lesson, the speaker invites people wanting special prayer or Christian baptism to come to the front. Those who come forward do so by their choice; no one will be pressured into coming forward.

WE ARE GLAD when you worship with us. Please stay after the assembly, so we may meet you. We hope you will experience us as people who love Jesus and his Word, and who are simply trying to follow Him.
